Cash-free payments, anytime, anywhere, any device

CDFpay, powered by Monitor, a new online payment solution that eliminates the labour intensive workload of staff and volunteers, is getting the thumbs up from busy school parents.

St Brigid’s Primary Mordialloc, St Gregory the Great Primary Doncaster and Xavier College Kew successfully piloted the automated payment system in 2016 and now join a growing list of Primary and Secondary schools who are continuing to use the product this year.

Designed to meet the needs of busy households, Catholic Development Fund (CDF) Executive Manager Product, Richard Coker, said parents were pleased with the ease and convenience of using CDFpay from any device, at any time.
“Parent uptake at all three schools has been tremendous and continues to increase steadily,” he said. “CDFpay automates the manual processes involved for ordering, paying, accounting, banking and stocktaking for school auxiliary services.”

At St Brigid’s Primary, parents no longer have to rush to school in person if they forget to make time-sensitive payments or worry about young children losing their lunch order and money. Similarly, at St Gregory the Great Primary, parents can easily make direct payments for a range of school auxiliary services including excursions and fundraisers. In fact, sales at the uniform shop have increased since the implementation of CDFpay, in comparison to the same period last year.

For senior students at Xavier College who usually buy their food at the school canteen, student cards are conveniently linked and used as prepaid canteen cards – just ‘tap and go’ at the payment terminals. For the younger students with lunch orders, online orders are now generated in real time and labels printed for use straight away on the order bags. As Canteen Manager, Julie Kupke explains: “A cash-free system means efficiency. Parent volunteers, previously bogged down with organising orders, counting money, giving change and going to the bank, are experiencing a much more efficient process when taking and preparing orders, processing payments and performing reconciliations.”

Cash-free payments enable greater efficiencies through streamlined administrative processes; improved cash management; and easy reporting, auditing and banking; that create value for users in the form of convenience for parents and security for students.
