Have you heard the Good News? CDF has developed an online thanksgiving portal, CDFpay for Parishes, exclusively for parishes in the Archdiocese of Melbourne, Diocese of Sale and Diocese of Bunbury.
For participating parishes:
- The team at CDF are rolling-out product enhancements on a regular basis. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Please note transactions processed via CDFpay for Parishes will appear on your CDF statement and includes the reference 'Fat Zebra CDF' or 'FZ Settlement'.
Our parish already has direct debit, why should I consider CDFpay?
Signing parishioners up for direct debit involves considerable administration and paperwork. CDFpay for Parishes provides an opportunity for parishes to take a quantum leap towards automated giving online.
Isn't it easier to share our parish BSB and Account Number?
Sharing this information publicly is not safe and also increases the level of administration when identifying and collating payments. CDFpay for Parishes makes it easy and reduces the opportunity for error. As long as access to the internet is available, online giving can be made anywhere via the safe and secure platform.
Why are personal details collected when parishioners make a payment? Are their details safe?
Does CDFpay for Parishes only accept Credit Card?
Parishioner payments can be made via either Debit or Credit Cards (Mastercard and Visa). We are working to add more payment options for parishioners in the near future.
What about our current Thanksgiving envelopes?
While thanksgiving envelopes and other systems continue, CDFpay provides parishioners with the opportunity to leave a ‘note’ with their offering which can include thanksgiving envelopes should they desire. This has proven helpful for many parishioners during COVID-19 and with the suspension of church visits.
What are others saying?
- Fr Nicholas Pearce - Holy Family, Mount Waverley
'We tried other online payment options, but it meant our parishioners had to visit multiple sites online. CDFpay for Parishes is directly linked from our parish site. Because it's Catholic Development Fund it's seen as trusted by our congregation.'
- Fr Daniel Serratore - St Benedict's, Burwood
'Given what’s happening right now (COVID-19) there’s is an immediate pragmatic need to provide new ways for parishioners to make payments. CDFpay for Parishes, facilitates this for our community in a secure and credible way.
However, I believe that there’s also an amazing opportunity for our church longer term if we can have the courage to sensitively start a wider conversation about giving. A conversation that ties to the idea of sacrifice and mission as an expression of faith.'
